Colleagues. Friends. Business partners.
Nate’s construction journey started early working alongside his grandfather while still a teen. This led to construction-related work in the Marines, majoring in Construction Management and Technology at Arizona State University and internships within the industry.
Amy started in the construction industry one week after college graduation in 2000. She was an English major with a love of literature and had considered teaching or continuing her education, but when an opportunity arose with a Construction Management consultant, she said goodbye to her college job in retail and embraced the opportunity to work alongside her dad, an inspector.
Nate and Amy met in 2014 while both were at McKinstry. Working together as part of a strong Special Projects team led to a meaningful friendship that continued after both had moved on to other commercial contractors. What started out as casual conversations and what ifs about starting their own contracting business eventually became reality.
With the help of many industry professionals along the way, support from family and friends, they built West Summit General Contracting whose story continues today.
Amy brings over 20 years of industry experience to focus on constructability and value- added suggestions for projects. Her attention to team management, planning, and execution provides continuity throughout construction and commissioning. She directs the project and reviews all major decisions.
Amy leads project development from meeting with clients and other stakeholders to determine feasibility of the project, to preconstruction coordination with subcontractors and architects, to construction and project completion. She coordinates with the owner, tenant (if applicable), subcontractors, and AHJs to ensure requirements are met. She is a tenured industry professional with expertise in many project types, including complex tenant improvements.
